2014 All-State Camp List

We highly encourage your student to attend an All-State Choir Camp. These camps greatly improve their competitiveness and preparation toward the All-Region & All-State Choir audition process. They will have a blast and be months ahead of the competition.

We have taken the time to compile a list of the camps that we are aware of, so that you can make an informed decision as to which camp best suits your family's summer schedule and budget. The spreadsheet containing all of the pertinent information can be found via this link.

Please be aware that most camps have a registration deadline of the first or second week in June (most by 6/15) and that many fill up in mid-February.

Central's Got Talent: Audition Results

The audition results are posted below.

Important information for acts selected for the show:

  1. All members of each act must be academically eligible to perform on 2/24. That is determined by the third six weeks report card and/or the ability to regain eligibility with the fourth six weeks progress report.
  2. If you are performing with an accompaniment track of any kind, you must get an MP3 file for it to Mr. Gilmore no later than 1 PM on February 18. You may email the file or bring it by the choir room on a CD or flash drive.
  3. Your act must be present for a tech rehearsal on Saturday, February 22. We will have a sign-up sheet for rehearsal times in the choir room on Monday.

We want to congratulate everyone for auditioning. There were so many talented performers! The judging panel deliberated for hours in making their decision. Congratulations to the following acts for making it into the talent show (in no particular order):

  • Emily Hurst & Brian Signorelli
  • Hannah Templin & Yesenia Ledesma
  • Arielle Gaither
  • Dalton Ketcherside
  • Dakota Wise (solo)
  • Leila Snell
  • Raechel Glassford
  • Kertron Mackey
  • Omar Cervantes
  • Group Musical: Façade

  • Luke Huckabee, Jonathan Flores, Dodie Ramos
  • Jonathan Hough

  • Jennifer Lewis*
  • Kat Hasty*

Individuals with an asterisk next to their name need to see Mr. Gilmore on Monday before final approval of their act.

Everyone will need to confirm their acceptance in the talent show by initialing by their names on the list posted in the choir room on Monday. Failure to do so will result in the act being dropped.

Christmas Concert Reminders

The students and directors are looking forward to sharing the joyous sounds of the season with everyone on Monday, December 16. The concert will start at 7 PM and, just like our Fall Concert, will be back at the beautiful Holy Angels Catholic Church.

The students will be looking great in their formal uniforms. Most students will be coming home with their uniforms today (Friday) and a small number of upperclassmen women along with most of the freshmen women will be receiving theirs in class on Monday.

Please make sure to review the uniform guidelines from the handbook. A couple of important reminders:

  1. Men will need to provide their own black shoes and socks. Please make sure that these are solid black and that the socks are of sufficient length to obscure the ankles plus 1 or 2 inches.
  2. Women will need to provide their own black shoes. We greatly prefer some sort of flat shoe rather than something with much heel. All shoes must be closed-toe.
  3. Jewelry and accessories: piercings should be limited to one stud-type piercing in the ear and all bracelets, necklaces, etc. should not be worn.

Please observe the following call times:

  • The HarmoniCats (show choir) at 4 PM
  • Varsity Women at 4:30
  • Men's Choir at 4:45
  • Concert Ladies and Performing Ladies (9th grade girls) at 5:30
  • Ladies' A Cappella at 5:50
  • General Membership Meeting of the CHS Choir Booster Club at 6:15
  • We will open the doors for general seating at 6:30, concert starts at 7:00

Looking forward to a beautiful concert!

Red Wheel Orders Due

Please be reminded that all orders for Red Wheel products are due in class on Tuesday, September 24. Please help us get them all in on that date.

Also, any booster/sponsor cards that have not been sold yet should be returned on that date so that we may remove those financial deductions from the students' accounts. The money for any sold booster cards should already be turned in (usually immediately upon selling them).

Thank you for your help with this.
