UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest Results

Congratulations to Central High Choirs on a successful UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest season.

The Varsity Women's Choir earned a sweepstakes trophy - taking home a superior rating on stage (1-1-1) and in sightreading (1-1-2).

The Varsity Mixed Choir also received a superior rating on stage (1-1-1) and an excellent rating in sightreading (2-2-2).

Ladies' A Cappella Choir has improved leaps and bounds this year.  They achieved an excellent rating on both stage (1-2-2) and in sightreading (2-2-2).

We want to also congratulate Mrs. Bullock and the Central Freshmen Campus Concert Ladies with their first sweepstakes award under the direction of Mrs. Bullock.  The girls received straight 1's from all judges on stage (1-1-1) and in sightreading (1-1-1).  The future of Central High Choirs looks bright!

Congratulations to all of the groups and students who competed this year.  You have represented San Angelo and Central High School with pride and distinction.  We have made MAJOR improvements with each group and each individual this year and this is only the beginning.

Vocal Ensemble Performs for the United Way of the Concho Valley

Central High Vocal Ensemble Performs at
2012 United Way Awards Presentation

A Jamaican theme highlighted the United Way of the Concho Valley's Annual Awards Luncheon, held at the NcNease Convention Center, with Foster Communication's Jay Michaels as the emcee. The theme corresponded with the 2012 campaign slogan, "One Love, One Heart, One Way-The United Way."  Entertainment for the event was provided by members of the Central High Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Landon Gilmore.

AVON Fundraiser

Our students are now selling AVON products as a fundraiser for their spring trip.  The students will be selling through January 22, with the last day to turn in orders being Monday, January 23.  With this timeframe, we anticipate getting all the orders received in time to distribute before Valentine's Day.

Whether you are shopping for the makeup wearer in your family or a gift for a loved one, there are many items in the catalog that would make excellent gifts for Valentine's Day.  Also, there are new items for men, too (body washes, cologne, watches, etc.).  Speak to a CHS choir student to place your order now!
